Peter Gabriel - Dark Side

When I think of Peter Gabriel, I think of two close friends of mine, that also enjoy his music as much as I do. Joe and Jeff.

My friend from high school, Joe and I used to take road trips to San Francisco or Arizona or many other destinations and Peter Gabriel was always in the rotation. Either, I had one of his CDs or Joe had one of his CDs.

Joe's all-time favorite Peter Gabriel song is “Sky Blue” from his “Up” album, so I made sure to include it on this collection of “Dark Side.”

We saw Peter Gabriel together on his “Growing Up” tour in the winter of 2001. To this day, it is the best concert I've (we’ve) ever been to. I highly recommend going on YouTube and searching and watching video clips from that tour.

Watching Peter Gabriel live is an overwhelming experience that even non-fans of his would still enjoy.

When Peter Gabriel performs live, it's not a general concert experience one would imagine. Seeing Peter Gabriel live, is like going to a Broadway show and an art gallery and putting them together in a blender on high speed. That's Peter Gabriel.

I've enjoyed Peter Gabriel's music since I was a kid. Since the first time I watched his “Sledgehammer” music video on MTV. Over the years I've always took deep dives into his lesser known music. This is a collection of that music.

My Peter Gabriel playlists are broken up into two parts.

The first part “Real World” is at the root of why I love Peter Gabriel. He is a world artist. He incorporates musical acts from all around the world into his music. Most of his lesser known music involves world acts.

If you want to hear more about my friend, Jeff and my experiences with Peter Gabriel, please refer to the description under the Peter Gabriel “Real World” playlist.

The second part, “Dark Side” is a collection of his lesser known tracks that are some of my favorite songs. Most of my favorite Peter Gabriel songs, other than “Sledgehammer" are ones that are lesser known to the general public, that only true fans know about.
