French Cheese

A pungent selection of French and pseudo French dance music compiled by DJ Timmy Tim.

My wife and I got married on February 4, 2013, but we had our wedding party a few months later on, June 24. We kept our guest list pretty small at fifty people, with only family and close friends.

One of my friends, Tim, who knew Teresa and I were going to France on our honeymoon curated a mix of French songs together for a road trip we were going on when we got to France. Tim made “French Cheese” CDs for every guest at the wedding. Truly amazing!!!

This collection kept us company as we drove from Bordeaux to Barcelona, then to Marseille, and finally to Nice. We must have looped this CD over and over again at least a dozen times. So many adventures along the way.

In Bordeaux we went to multiple wine tastings and ate way too much bread and cheese. The parks in Bordeaux are the most beautiful in France.

In Barcelona we ate tapas, drank wine on a nude beach and rode bikes all around the city. Spanish paella. Delicious!

In Marseille we ate the best steak and frites, twice that I’ve ever had in my life. We also took a small boat into the Mediterranean Sea about an hour of the coast and jumped into the sea and had to swim about one hundred yards to shore.

We climbed to the top of huge rocks and jumped into the sea. My friend Joe, who was with us thought it was a good idea to jump into the sea while holding his iPhone. It was supposedly in a water proof case. The case failed. The phone broke. I thought it was pretty funny. Joe, not so much.

In Nice, my wife and I ate the best pizza we’ve ever eaten in my life. Again we ate it twice. The pizza was baked in the back on a van on the side of the road just a few blocks from the beach by an old French husband and wife.

I ordered a salami with red bell peppers pizza. We took the pizza and ate it on the beach with a bottle a Bordeaux red while looking at the sunset behind the Mediterranean Sea.

Since I, like most people don’t own a CD player anymore, found Tim’s mix though Spotify and on YouTube. Now, I can share with you the mix that kept my wife and I company on our road trip through France.
