This playlist was inspired by Brian Cranston's autobiography, “A Life In Parts.” I went through every song from the complete series of Breaking Bad and have curated my top 15 favorite songs.

I am a child of the 80s, and growing up in the 80s I watched countless dramas with my parents. From Magnum PI, Dallas, Dynasty, Knight Rider, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and even, Jake and the Fat Man.

All these shows were great because they were a product of their time, but the greatest drama series of all time has to be Breaking Bad.

I knew of Brian Cranston as an actor first from playing Tim Whatley on Seinfeld, then as Hal on Malcolm in the Middle, but when Breaking Bad first premiered, I never really gave two thoughts about watching it. No real reason. It just wasn’t on my radar.

I started watching Breaking Bad when it was halfway through season five on air. I binged watched the first 5 1/2 seasons of breaking bad in two weeks. I was addicted. I couldn't stop. I stayed at home more and even stopped going to the gym.

Breaking Bad is the only show I’ve ever watched that I can now admit that I was truly addicted to.

I had made it all the way up to the episode “Gilding Over All” in season five. You remember. Walt and Jesse are out of the meth business and everything seems to be going fine. At the end of the episode Hank sits down on the toilet, opens a book and realizes that Walt is Heisenberg.

I made it to the end and now I had to wait almost a year for the completion of the second half of season five. Absolutely brutally painful!!!

Breaking bad, is one of those rare shows where every episode, every actor in the show, the writing, the directing, everything is perfect. A perfect piece of fiction. Art!

It's hard to imagine there ever being a drama series that could match the prestige of Breaking Bad. Maybe one day, but maybe not.
