Wave Riders

When you go to the beach and stare outing the ocean, you see waves crashing along the shore. Sometimes they're big waves, sometimes they're small waves, sometimes there's a high tide and other times there's a low tide. So, every time you go to the beach you don't know what the waves will bring.

What kind of waves will there be is what Wave Riders is about. It's a collection of songs that I've curated over a period of months, sometimes up to a year and have put together in an order to take you on a ride from highs to lows.

This collection started off on a Saturday night playing tennis with a friend of mine, Matt. We had a Saturday night tennis routine that lasted for years.

In 2020, I bought a Bose Bluetooth speaker and our weekly Saturday night tennis matches turned into a disco party with the best music RadioMeuh had to offer. After completing the first set, which I’m sure Matt won, but not by much, we took our normal ten minute break, between sets, when we both heard a song play. We both stopped, looked at each other and were intrigued by the sounds we heard.

It was a Turkish song from a band out of Amsterdam called Esmerim Guzelim by Altin Gun. A few songs later we heard Fever by Peggy Lee and a playlist started to take shape. This playlist took about 6 months to get it right and this is really a playlist for Matt. Let's enjoy the ride together. Listen to Wave Riders. Listen to the wave.
